| 0:00.0 | Hi, welcome back to Maine Justice. It is the day after Labor Day. It means it's Tuesday, |
| 0:16.3 | morning, September 2nd, and that person who's very polite, I laugh at what I'm saying, is Mary McCord. |
| 0:24.2 | Yeah, we're having a morning. |
| 0:25.8 | So I had two thoughts for this Tuesday right after Labor Day that I think are going to really fit in with the breaking news and the things that we are going to talk about |
| 0:40.2 | today. One is that today is the start of a criminal trial for a leader who lost an election |
| 0:50.8 | and then was indicted for essentially insurrection, for trying to engage in a coup |

| 1:47.1 | Open. It's a huge international event. And there are people from around the world attending and |
| 1:54.9 | playing. And what's notable in the doubles is it's not like, oh, that's the American team. |
| 2:01.2 | You'll have an American and a Brazilian. |
| 2:03.6 | You'll have someone from Croatia and from Belarus. |
| 2:08.5 | You'll have just a variety of people. |
| 2:10.5 | And a few people who love sports and think about sports and the fact that you can come from all these different places and compete and be valued. |
| 2:21.7 | And it was nationalism in the best way, not in a sort of exclusionary way. |
| 2:27.1 | And it just was such a reminder of where we could be and where a part of us still are and what we're seeing from our government. |
| 2:38.5 | It's like the Olympics, right? Like sport does seem right now to be one place where all of that |
