I really believe that Americans need to understand

how America works, what makes us free, so that when people try to undermine that freedom,

we understand that it doesn't just harm every American, which is bad enough, but it destroys

the idea of freedom around the world,

the cynicism that comes in when you see people in America doing what some of the people we've

been discussing have done. John Solomon, let me ask you, how did you originally get into

journalism and where did you grow up?

How did you find your way into the world that you're now in?

Well, I come from a family of all Irish cops.

In fact, I'm the only non-cop in the family.

Try being a journalist and a full family of cops.

It's not very comfortable.

But I was blessed with a father who believed in public service

and believed in pursuing the truth and solving crimes.
