Gide, humans. Welcome to the final episode of 2021. We did it. We're here. This year was a stinker,

and we got through it. And we got through it with a lot of interesting conversations.

42 episodes this year, I'm proud of us. I was going to say I'm proud of myself, but it's really you

who have been able to sustain the juggernaut that is uncomfortable conversations with

Josh Sepps and I thank you for it. It's been there been ups and downs. I'll tell you what,

especially in Australia, especially in the parts of Australia that were in lockdown,

Sydney and Melbourne in particular during Delta. That was a long time between drinks, ladies and

gents. And we got through it and hopefully,

hopefully we're out the other side. Now, this isn't asked me anything episode. So I'll get to

COVID and I'll get to Australia in the moment. I'm not going to dwell on that. I will,

if you are a confused American, not quite sure what to think about what's going on in Australia.

I will address that next year.

And when calmerheads prevail, we can all sit back and have a cup of tea and figure

out what went wrong in Australia and what went right.

I will just note that some people on Twitter seem to believe that, you know, oh, if you

actually look at the numbers, then Australia didn't do that much better than America.

No.

I looked at the numbers again today.

On a per capita, and other people say, well, Australia is smaller, so of course they have fewer COVID deaths.

On a per capita basis, Australia has 96% fewer COVID deaths than the United States.

Now, that doesn't mean that you should justify

infringing people's human rights, but it does mean that there is that side of the ledger to
