We’re kicking off the week by answering your listener questions! And if you have a question that you’d like for us to answer on the show, we’d love for you to submit your own via HowToMoney.com/ask , send us your voice memo. Regardless of how random or bizarre you might think it is, we want to hear it!

1 - Retirement rollover: Should I pay the fee with Capitalize to expedite my 403b rollover, just wait, or are there other options?

2 - Too liquid: How do I know if I have too much cash since my financial goals are a number of years out?

3 - Safety vs growth: As I approach retirement, does it make sense to buy additional years of service to boost my pension?

4 - Local vs national: Should I pay more for my mortgage if it means better service with a local lender or is it only about the lowest rate?

5 - Autopilot: Is the “AI World War III” portfolio worth considering over on the Autopilot app?

0:55.6

I know just what they can do with it. It's like the biggest flex ever. It's like the worst humble brag ever. It's saying, that's like, oh, my wife is just so beautiful. Like, I just don't know what to do about it. You hide her from the masses. My car is so fuel efficient, Joel. It's just annoying. What do I with all the money it's annoying how little I have to go to the gas station and pay to fill this thing up I'm trying to

1:00.8

think oh I'm so fast at running now this is Joel's humber brugge I'm old can't be that fast

1:06.6

although I don't know the getting so annoyed that I'm able to run for such a long distance without having to refuel.

1:12.5

Like, what do I do about that? I think the guy who just broke the 50K world record, though, is over 50 years old. He's... He's the CEO of the Atlantic, and he actually... Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Read his book about running. It's quite good. But it's also just fascinating that like, he's crazy.

1:27.5

1:29.1

He's an interesting bloke.

1:31.0

2:22.1

You can be, he's insane. He's an interesting bloke. He is an interesting guy. The book was quite good. But it's also just fascinating to me that you can, that you can be 50 and still kind of like at your peak, which is crazy. Push it. Yeah, a little bit. I like it. I like that there's hope for us. I don't think it's going to be me, but I'm more proud to him. No, no, dude. I'm all about trying to find the things that you are good at or better at when you get older, right? Like that's that crystallized intelligence as opposed to like the, was it David Brooks that talks about the more fluid? Or always get them mixed up. David versus Arthur. Yes. Because they write similar stuff and I know they're very different people. But whichever one talks about the crystallized wisdom and intelligence versus the fluid thinking more strategically on your toes. Well, they both wrote similar books about the second half of life. Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I know I get them confused sometimes, too. That's the longest ever tease for just one listener question. We're also going to talk about opting for an AI World War III portfolio, whether or not we should all be doing that.

2:24.6

And it's just as terrible as it sounds.

2:30.3

And we're going to talk about the best way to buy a house or specifically to finance it.

2:35.3

And also, we're not going to once say that you should house hack, which is oftentimes what people are like assuming we're going to say. It's underrated, but we won't bring it up in this case. Yeah. Well, you kind of just did. You alluded to it. I just, okay. I said we were going to talk about it. And then you're just like, let me tell you how great it is. I'm going to zip my lips, even though we're hosting a podcast. I should probably talk. All right. You got something for us? Oh, are we just going to kick it off? Let's just kick off.
