Sarah Beth Kapusta is a second-generation survivor of more than 25 years of abuse, with an occult masquerading as a Baptist church.

After her escape, she learned that shame cannot survive the power of love,

and has spent the last seven years rebuilding her life, reuniting with estranged family, and also becoming an attorney.

She's an advocate at heart who desires to give a voice to the voiceless among us.

I want to be able to welcome Sarabath today. It was fortuitous that you got in contact with me.

And then I was able to have a conversation with your mom on the show, Cindy Rudd, who told her perspective and then having been able to

come out of her situation and reconnect with her kids. I know that you had initially been in

contact and I've been wanting to speak with you. So I'm really glad

to have you on the show today and we're going to be doing it in an interesting way where first

I'm going to speak with you and then your mom is going to join the conversation, which will be

for the upcoming episode. And so welcome. I'd love for you to just introduce yourself. I am Sarah Beth

Capusta. And I live in Virginia. I currently am working in curriculum development for an online school,

which is interesting. But I was and would like to continue to be an attorney.

We moved from the state of Maryland just a few months ago. And unfortunately, I do not have the Virginia

Bar. So that is kind of the next thing on my list is to get license in the state where I live, but for now, I've

reverted back to my background in education. So we're developing curriculum for middle school and

high school English and foreign languages. But anyways, most interestingly, I grew up in a cult and that is, that is my story in a nutshell.

Um, and the last seven years, I got out seven years ago, have been full of interesting, uh, healing and discovery and understanding of what actually happened over those years and lots of

restoration of relationships and and just knowing even who I am probably getting to know
