0:37.0	I'm so happy that you're here. This is a subject I've wanted to cover for ages and ages
0:40.0	and the community who listened to this podcast have been begging me to find someone
0:44.0	and I couldn't have found someone better than you, so I'm thrilled that you're here.
0:48.0	This is obviously a mental health podcast and I would love to talk to you about mental health.
0:54.0	But before we get into it for context, you are an activist amongst the kind of
0:59.0	asexual and aromantic spaces and I would love for you to explain what those two things
1:05.0	mean in case it's new to someone.
1:08.0	Yeah, so being asexual means experiencing little to no sexual attraction towards anyone
1:13.0	regardless of their gender and similarly, but not the same, being aromatic means experiencing
1:18.0	little to no romantic attraction towards anyone regardless of their gender.
1:22.0	So you can be asexual and not aromatic and you can be aromatic and not asexual,
1:27.0	but I happen to be both. Right, right, right.
1:31.0	Just quickly, when it comes to aromanticism, I guess I always find that one confusing
1:36.0	because what is romanticism? What is romantic?
1:40.0	Who got to define what is romantic?
1:43.0	Like we've been so force-fed and bombarded with romantic imagery and romantic songs
1:49.0	and romantic gestures. I never know if that's even a real thing that anyone feels
1:54.0	or if it's just something that we have come to expect in our society.
1:58.0	Do you know what I mean? I don't know if that's just because I am aromantic,
2:01.0	but I definitely don't identify at all with anything romantic.
