I'm James, and I'm so glad you decided to join me for this story called Ascent to the Peak.

Tonight, we'll take a journey upward to the top of America's mountain, Pikes Peak.

From the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in southern Colorado, we will ascend more than 14,000 feet to the summit of this famous peak.

Our trek will include many sights, sounds, and sense of God's creation.

As we make our way to the top, either by car, train, or foot, we'll eventually experience

the victory of reaching the summit and encounter some of the

most breathtaking views. Along the way, we will hear comforting words from the scriptures,

such as Psalm 72 verse 3 that says may the mountains bring prosperity to the people the hills the fruit of righteousness

mountains hills fruitful valleys and plains all created by the hand of God for our enjoyment and provision.

Thank God for his provision tonight.

Take a few moments to get settled into bed and make yourself as comfortable as possible.

Fluff your pillow.

Pull the soft covers around you.

Stretch out your legs.

And rest your arms peacefully at your sides invite the Holy Spirit to cover you tonight

say something like

Lord send your spirit to guard me in my household as we sleep, in the name of Jesus.

Now, take a nice, slow, deep breath in.

Hold it for a couple of seconds, and release it just as slowly.
