decided for this episode that after going back and forth about it we're just going to read the

whole of the articles they're not terribly long and we figure if you're

listening in your car exercising or something it's going to be tough for you to pull them up online

and read along.

And it's also going to be kind of tough for us to summarize them in an efficient way.

So we're going to try this and we'll have to get some feedback from you guys and see if you don't like it then we can change if you do like it then that's how we'll do this so having said that why don't you go ahead and start this off, David.

Sure, so this is Leaving the Tribe, why I'm no longer part of the online atheism community.

This is written by Martin Pribble, and it can be found on slate.

So this reads,

for the last five years, I have considered myself

an activist atheist.

I trolled Facebook and Twitter for theists and told them why they are wrong. I made fun of them for their irresponsible or unreasonable beliefs.

I would analyze and nitpick their statements, show examples of just where they went wrong and why, and even at times

ridicule them when they seem to be no option left, all in the vain hope that I might be able

to sway them to a more rational way of viewing the world and the universe.

This could be extremely satisfying, and sometimes I find I could even come to a level of agreement

with a believer about the realities of life. I even have friends among my Twitter

following who are priests and strong Christians. Okay so that first paragraph what

strikes me now is I didn't realize the the header title was actually leaving the tribe. I don't when you pull it up the my tab says just why I'm quitting there on my atheism community

But leaving the tribe is actually the the header title like the bigger title and

the things he's describing here I just find it funny that I don't I don't partake in
