In this episode, we're going to learn a few new words for people and a few new feelings. To begin with, let's learn a cognate,

the word for public, as in the public. This word really doesn't need a mnemonic for learning it,

but because of the category that it's in, we're going to put it in the posters on the right

side of Joel's stage. It's a group of people,

and remember that groups of people that are masculine are represented by these posters that indicate

plays that Joel has coming up. The first play that Joel plans to act in himself is called

El Pubblico. In this play, Joel's going to stand up on a

pedestal in front of a sea of people and shout, The Public loves me. Next, let's go to where we

store occupations. Remember the Capitán who weighs a ton.

Someone who helps supervise him is the colonel whose name is Coronel.

So the Coronel has nails all over his helmet to help keep his helmet on.

So remember that the stress syllable is nail.

Another military figure here is the commander, or commandante.

So the stress is Dante, and the commander holds a torch, waves it around, and shouts,

Nothing daunts me.

So, Coronel and Commandante are basically cognates.

They're very much like the English equivalent,

but these are a couple of ways that you can help to remember these words.
