Hey, hello everyone. This is Ben Norton and this is moderate rebels.

This is part of a live stream discussion that my co-host, Max Blumenthal and I did with our colleague at the gray zone, Aaron Mate.

In this part, we discussed the brutal U.S. dirty war on Syria, also backed by the European Union, Turkey,

Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar. For 10 years since 2011, these foreign powers have waged a brutal

war to try to destroy the country of Syria, to overthrow its government.

They were unable to do that.

So now they're suffocating millions of Syrian civilians with crippling sanctions.

They've helped destroy the Syrian economy, causing massive inflation, fuel shortages,

bread shortages.

I mean, it's absolutely devastating.

And despite that, there has been a concerted

campaign recently in 2021. Now that we, I mean, it's incontrovertible. We have so much evidence

proving that these foreign powers led by the United States have spent billions of dollars

meddling in this war, fueling this war to try to destroy Syria and its government and effectively its people.

And yet recently, regime change activists, including many in academia, many of these pundits and fake intellectuals,

have signed an open letter attacking us and attacking really the U.S US and Western European anti-war movement as a whole,

demonizing the anti-imperialist left as a whole.

We talk about how absurd this open letter is and how absurd these attacks are by these regime changers

and just how they live in a fantasy land, totally ignoring

the horrible harm that not only has Washington and Brussels done to Syria, but is currently

continuing to do to millions of Syrian civilians.
