So for this Friday's debrief, I want to share a story with you that taught me a very

valuable lesson in how I use it every single day in my life.

So I was a brand new officer.

Actually, I want to say I had about three years on.

And I pretty much knew all of the known criminals in the area where I was a brand new officer. Actually, I want to say I had about three years on. And I pretty much knew all of the known criminals in the area where I worked, all of the drug dealers, all of the thieves, all of the prostitutes, you name it.

I pretty much knew who they were, who they associated with on my cruiser district district which is like a smaller area of my precinct

that i'm responsible for so i'm driving down the street and i see a known prostitute so i pull over

i got out my car i start talking to her as i i've talked to anybody on my precinct and i noticed that

she had a notebook in her hand.

And I asked her about the notebook and, you know, she kind of reluctantly tells me, well,

well, this is where I write down my thoughts.

And I'm like, well, tell me about that.

Like every single conversation I've ever had with you has either been you lying or you

trying to fight with me because you're high or you just got caught you know

coming out of a car stealing some man's wall or something along those lines and I've never really

got to hear you talk about like your personal life like this so she tells me that she writes
