tell us a little background about your own upbringing and where you are in the

Austin Diocese. Austin diocese my my family home is in San Marcus which is between Austin and San Antonio and as my parents still are and a number of my siblings live in the area.

That's where I graduated high school.

It's a college town, took my degree in of all things physics and then wound up instead of going to

graduate school in physics wound up going to the seminary. I did a year up at the

University of Dallas doing some leveling work in philosophy.

And I've pretty much figured to stay there and do the whole program there, but then the Bishop sent me off to Rome.

I was in Rome for four years with education by the Jesuits at the Gregorian and then in 85 came back and entered

the previously ministry for the Diocese of Austin which I've been largely in the

Waco area for most of that, probably 30 of the 32 years of the 37
