Hello and welcome to the Byron York Show, the No Chat Chat podcast.

We'd like to get right into it and what we're going to get into today is a look at the

Republican presidential race as the first debate gets really, really close just a few days

left.

And really, I think the question to ask some candidates might not really want to hear

it this way, but I think the question to ask is, as the first debate approaches,

is the Republican race already over?

So debate days away.

There's some uncertainty actually about who will take part.

We just got reports that Donald Trump is not going to take part.

He's going to skip it.

On the other hand, it's always possible he could change his mind.

So I don't think that's actually written in stone at this point, but we'll see.

It looks like he won't go and you know, you know, a debate, obviously a debate with Trump

is just wildly different than a debate without Trump.

And that's what the Fox News moderators, Brett Baer, Martha McCallum, have been trying

to deal with.

And they say they are just prepared for whatever happens, whatever circumstance they are

faced with.

And that's a difficult job, but I'm sure it will be a great debate.

Whoever is in it.
