My name is Max and I'm an alcoholic and it's great to be here with everybody on a Sunday afternoon or something morning for every year in the world.

I am for some reason exceptionally nervous about doing this today and I don't know what that is but I agree

as a goal of this journey of recovery that I'm on. I know that at some point I will understand where life is coming from and what I have to do with the grace of God to have it removed.

So it took me some time to select that reading because when I opened that little book, there was so much stuff inside there.

I didn't quite feel ready to or free understand maybe that's because of the transition that I'm in at this moment in my spiritual journey and my spiritual growth and that's what the power of God is all about.

So in a little bit of consultation and back and forward with young he directed me to the only place that I know best and that was the big book of alcoholics and all of us where my foundations have been set so firmly that I know that I can't deviate from 164 pages that were written by the first 100.

And that has been the life line that is enabled me to grow in understanding and effectiveness and how I live my life and how I continue to mine for this gold that is the relationship with this part greater than myself.

And my friend young reminded me of a recording that I'd listen to you some time ago when I was drunk.

You're in Charlie talking about step six and seven and I'm mining for gold was mining for our own or self.

And when I take away the worldly clamors and the material things and individuals in my life that have affected me or who I believe have affected me, which they haven't because I have the ability and the opportunity to see things from an entirely different angle.

Because alcoholics anonymous and going on the journey of the 12 steps to have the most beautiful unbelievable spiritual awakening as the results of the steps I can see what is the key to my future on page 66 that talks about it holds the key to our future.

And by simply following the clear cut directions that are set out in this big book of alcoholics anonymous to which our fellowship is named after I've been able to sweep away my prejudice.

I've been able to think honestly and I've been able to search diligently for the faults in my makeup.

And I can no longer be the victim of what I believe has been done to me or what has happened to me because I'm no longer the victim.

I stand strong in a relationship with the part greater than myself that has become the most important relationship in my entire life.

And without that, I can't search for the gold.

It's as simple as that. Without that, I can't get this life that has been given to me, which is better than gold. It's better than any material possession that I could ever strive to have.
