Now I am not reintroducing the idea of purgatory, but on the other hand I do believe the baby was sworn out with a bathwater.

With that came a belief, when you die, you're instantaneously and magically made perfect.

The soul of someone who dies immediately goes into eternity.

There is no place where you make up for your sins.

There is no purgatory in the twinkling of an eye. We shall be changed.

Is it time to distrust your pastor?

This is the Richard Radio.

No doubt you've read some reports about scandalous behavior of some pastors in America.

Perhaps it started you to think, hey, if that guy could behave like that is my pastor up to that.

Maybe you've scratched your head pondering, is it time to distrust my pastor?

I believe the answer to that question is no.

You should never distrust your pastor.

If you see behavior, you hear him say something that concerns you, you can be worried about him.

You can approach him and talk to him, but I don't think our pastor should be one of distrust.

We are going to have to trust the Lord that he has appointed a man for my local assembly,

who is behaving honorably unless he gives signs to the contrary.

Even then, I don't want to begin distrusting.

I want to be concerned. I want to be worried.

I want to, like Paul said, respectfully approach the man and say, hey,

help me because I've been seeing this.
