It's a solemn day for a solemn act in Nancy Pelosi's opinion.

On this solemn day I recall that the first order of business for members of Congress is

the solemn act to take a note to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

And that act is to introduce the articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump.

And she quickly passed the baton to House Judiciary Committee Chair Jerry Nadler, who

became only the fourth person in the history of our nation to present articles of impeachment

against a sitting president.

Today in service to our duty to the Constitution and to our country, the House Committee on

the Judiciary is introducing two articles of impeachment charging the President of the

United States, Donald J. Trump, with committing high crimes and misdemeanors.

One, abuse of power and two obstruction of Congress.
