This book I've been reading it over the last couple of weeks.

I also watched the documentary film, which was released, I think, a couple of years ago, one or two years ago, produced by Amy. And of course, as many of you will know, it tells the story of Arsenal, triumphant Arsenal beating Liverpool on the final day of the league season, Division 1 in 1989. The extraordinarily unlikely circumstances which led to this game, Arsenal was second

in the league, Liverpool were first, it was essentially winner takes all, and they played

each other on the last day of the season, which is, as you imagine you will agree, extraordinarily

unlikely that that will ever happen again um one of the other

aspects uh which contributes to that also is that a few weeks before this happened um english football

suffered i mean it's it's its greatest ever tragedy which was of course the hillsborough tragedy

um which the consequence of which was, of course, the Hillsborough tragedy, which, the consequence of

which was to delay the game. So not only were Arsenal playing Liverpool at Amfield on the last

day of the season, they were also playing each other two weeks after the season had finished,

and no other teams were playing at the same time. So it was, as I said, an extraordinary set of

circumstances. And the story is told in the words of the players and the people that were there.

It's very much little bite-sized chunks, little stories, I suppose, a lot from the players,

including Tony Adams, Paul Merson. And there's parts from Mark Leach, the sports

photographer who's been on the podcast before, who was there shooting the game, some bits from

Amy herself. It's a really, really, really fascinating read. And it's sufficiently different from

the documentary, if you've seen that, and you're interested to read the book you should do.
