Buenos afternoon here's. Buenos afternoon.

Here's a little story from my holiday.

We went and played pool in a pool hall around the corner from where I used to live in Barcelona.

And at the end, it's pool hall slash cocktail place.

So you play pool and get some watery cocktails, let's say. And at the end, I was

paying the guy and we were chatting a little bit. And he said, hey, how come, you know, you speak

Spanish, you know, quite well. I said, well, you know, I lived here almost 20 years ago now, but I've

forgotten a lot of my Spanish. And he said, no, it's still pretty good.

He said, where are you from? And I said, Ireland. He went, ah, Ireland. See, you guys try,

not like the English. Fair. I mean, a fair comment, I'll be honest. We're not renowned for our linguistic skills as a nation. But I'll have a go. I will have a go. And even when people speak back to me in their sort of weary English, as if to say, don't even bother, mate, I will sometimes double down and, you know, carry on with the Castilian.

Quite a lot.

Until I'm ejected from the premises.

Which is usually the case.
