Welcome ladies and gentlemen to a brand new season one. Of course which everybody is extremely excited about.

I can tell I gauge the mood from social media. I see what people say on Twitter and Facebook.

Everybody is enthralled. They're captivated. They're ready to go. They're absolutely dying for the

football to start again. Well you know, so sort of. Look I think most people are right because

that's the thing about the start of a season right. It's you're filled maybe you're not. I always am

have been since the time I was a child filled with this perhaps in fact the weight of evidence

suggests that this is yes completely misplaced optimism. But hey I can't help it. It's a clean

slate everybody starting from zero. We've got a nice new kit. The grass is going to be super green

and you're thinking anything could happen. Anything could happen between now and may and you know

lots of stuff will happen. But what you want it for good stuff to happen. And maybe not everybody shares

that view at this moment in time. I understand that. I do. You know I look at the squad and I think

hey it's quite good. Really is. I mean midfield I'm very impressed with midfield. We've got good goalkeepers

good fullbacks. Slight bit of an issue there at the whole center half thing you know with two of them

being absolutely banjacks to one of them being only bank from the European championships and the

other two that we have well you know they're very inexperienced. And then you know upfront people

are going mad about a striker of course I want a striker. I think we need a striker. I think we

need to add something. But you know it's not like we don't have anyone. We do have some players there.

So look this work to do on the squad. Your guess is as good as mine as to why that work wasn't done

before the start of the season. Which is you know when it would make the most sense to do it when

players have time to settle in and they've got time to meet their new teammates you know have a

training session or two. Just learn a bit of the language perhaps if they're coming from a different
