And some thoughts and insights into what the boss has been thinking and is thinking as Alex has had some contact with him in the very recent past.

So since the last ours cas well, what's been happening?

We were here last Friday talking about how vital the Chelsea game was.

And I think we were talking with more hope in our hearts than expectation.

I think that's fair to say.

Our form leading up to the Chelsea game wasn't great. It was rubbish.

We conceded five goals in two league games.

beaten 2-0 by Assymila, 3-0 by Manchester City.

We'd looked pretty bad in both of those games.

And you're going to somewhere like Stanford Bridge, where Chelsea have lost once in four years.

So it was a huge, a huge ask for the team.

We made life very difficult for ourselves, of course, with giving them a goal.

Almuneus throw wasn't good.
