Summary

This time on our weekend podcast Glenn gives us the latest updates on Donald Trump's legal battles. First he discusses equal justice between rulings in similar cases. Is it fair if a poor person has to go to jail when a rich person charged with the same crime goes free? Then, Glenn gives us 3 reason why Judge Aileen Cannon should step away from Trump's classified documents case. And then finally some good news about the Trump trials: there was no riots or violence in the streets by his MAGA supporters during his 2 arraignments even though Trump called for protests and it appears from his latest indictment that not only Trump's attorneys are testifying against him - many of his Mar-a-Lago employees have flipped and are spilling the beans on him as well.

This time on our Weekend Long Form podcast, Glenn gives us the latest updates on Donald Trump's

0:20.5

legal battles. Thank you for joining me on my Justice Matters podcast. We've got a lot to talk about

0:29.0

because we are now in the era of the Trump Trials. Here's where I cue the Trump Trials theme music.

0:46.1

So there sure have been some developments, both in and out of court that we'll be discussing

1:01.0

today. And I don't know about you friends, but I feel like I've been on a justice rollercoaster,

1:09.2

right? One day we're up, and next day we're down, then we get to the top of the hill,

1:15.0

and that rollercoaster begins the plunge and it takes hairpin turns. And just when you think you're

1:21.4

sort of pulling into the station and getting ready to unbuckle your seatbelt, the ride takes you

1:29.0

back up again. And that's what we've been experiencing on this quest for accountability,

1:37.6

for the crimes of Trump and company. One minute we learned Donald Trump is federally indicted

1:45.1

for the many crimes he committed involving classified documents, national security materials,

1:51.6

national defense information, which when mishandled is a violation of our nation's espionage laws.

1:59.4

And then the next minute we learn that the one judge who is probably least well positioned

2:10.8

to preside over Trump's case, and that's a generous description, least well positioned,

2:18.7

to preside over the criminal case of the United States of America versus Donald Trump,

2:23.3

judge Aileen Cannon will be the presiding judge, at least for the moment.

2:30.9

Do you ever feel like you get justice whiplash? You know, but I guess nobody ever said accountability

2:37.6

was going to be easy or arrive promptly, smoothly without any ups and downs, or hairpin turns,

2:47.6

or fall starts, or back steps. You know, nobody ever said justice was going to be easy,

2:55.3

but we will continue to fight to see that justice is achieved. And today friends, I want to look at

3:03.7

the legal developments of the week through the lens of not just justice, but but of equal justice.
