1:00.7	General Washington and General Ro Shambau discussed their options for the 1781 fighting season during the spring.
1:08.0	Washington wanted to attack New York City and forced the main British Army under General Clinton to surrender.
1:15.0	Rochambault wanted to go to Virginia and take out the British Southern Army under General Cornwallis.
1:21.0	Washington's goal would have been a more decisive way to end the war,
1:26.0	however the chances of taking New York seemed much lower.
1:30.3	Washington convinced Rochambo to probe the defenses in northern Manhattan,
1:35.0	but those probes only confirmed Rochambo's belief that they could not take the British there.
1:41.0	In August of 1781, Washington received confirmation that the French
1:46.1	fleet under Admiral de Grass was sailing for Virginia. Washington gave up his plans for
1:51.9	New York and conceded that he was going to have to follow the French strategy.
