Summary

British Colonel Banastre Tarleton attacks a larger forcer under General Thomas Sumter at Fishing Creek. The British kill or scatter the surprised militia.  At the same time, a force under Colonels Isaac Shelby and Elijah Clarke lead a larger loyalist force into an ambush near Musgrove Mill. The continued fighting leads both sides to engage in increased savagery against the enemy and civilians.
