Summary

In the fall of 1778, Americans attack Indian villages at Unadilla and Onaquaga in upstate New York. In response, Mohawk Chief Joseph Brant and Major Walter Butler of Butler's Rangers attack the Americans at Cherry Valley, NY. They slaughter men, women, and children. 1:22.0	The attacks had culminated in the destruction of German flats in September 1778.
1:29.8	Thanks to advance warning and good defensive forts, the Americans had avoided a massacre there, but the destruction of a sizable village called for a response.
