It is today Monday the 7th of November and we're going to ask the question whether we are all too pessimistic.

When it comes to geopolitics in light of the rumors of a Chinese reopening.

And it's my great pleasure to be joined by one of the very best geopolitical strategists out there. Jacob Shapiro.

So discuss this question. Jacob, it's good to see you. How are you?

Thanks. I don't know if I'm one of the best, but I am optimistic. So I'm in the right place.

That's a good way to start this discussion, Jacob. But before we talk China, I wanted to get your take on the midterms.

I'm going to talk about coming this week. Any strong expectations for the result?

I don't know that I have strong expectations or any insights that I can add to your audience. I would just say that, you know, even at the beginning of this year, it seemed to foregone conclusion that the Democrats were going to get slaughtered in the midterms.

And they're probably going to lose the house. But if you look at the 538 polls, I think it's something like 15% or 16% chance that the Democrats pull out the house and the Senate seems like a toss up.

So the Democrats have been able to make up some ground here over the course of the year, whether it's enough ground or not.
