Well, I just do. first of all he's my tokayoio. His name is Miguel Inigas. He's from Odessa, Texas.

0:56.5

And he wrote in with a rather interesting lesson for us to learn. There's quite a few lessons.

1:03.2

And one of it's about third party stuff that isn't happening to you. Do I get involved?

1:06.9

That's a question we get all the time. And I think that would be applicable here. He told me a little bit about his incident and a news article. We'll get into that more right now. And it's a shame for our lady listeners that they can't see him. He is a handsome man. I'm going to warn you. Miguel, how are you, sir? Doing good. All right. Well, I did say you're in Odessa. Are you married? You got kids? Yeah, I got three kids. Nice.

1:27.9

Very nice. All right. Well, I did say you're in Odessa. Are you married? You got kids? Yeah, I got three kids.

1:30.0

Nice. Very nice. And he is in concrete work. And as I told him during our pre-interview, he does real work.

1:36.3

That's hard work. I'm sure he has very calloused hands and is a strong individual, which will come into play later on in this story.

1:43.0

So tell us, Miguel, before your incident,

1:46.2

you know, this is kind of a standard question. I ask everybody, did you have a lot of self-defense

1:50.4

experience? Are you a CCW holder, martial arts, anything like that? Well, in Texas, we have

1:56.8

open carry. Okay. So, you know, you just have a gun, you can carry. If you're, you know,

2:02.6

legal holder of a gun, you can carry. And, um, I have, uh, I have done some, uh, uh,

2:09.9

Jiu Jitsu, but not like for real big training, you know, gone to the mats here and there.

2:17.2

Okay. I've always like stuff like that. So it's not nothing like formal training. So do you, do you make it a habit of carrying a firearm? I usually, I pretty much always carry. Okay. And you said, you said open carry. I want to make sure we delineate. So do you carry openly or do you concealed carry without a permit? Because that's illegal in Texas.

2:35.3

Yeah. Well, it's it's I conceal carry without a permit. Open carry. It's here in Texas, it's a constitutional carry. Like we can conceal carry or open carry either one. Yeah. If you've watched the channel more than once, you know that we're not big fans of open carry. If it can be, if it's the only way you can carry a firearm, okay, fine, but we prefer the people conceal wherever, wherever possible. So about how long ago was your defensive encounter? Well, was it, um, uh, the 28th of March, so it was probably two weeks ago, something that. So this is pretty fresh. Okay, good. That way it's fresh. It's fresh in memory as well. So you were out in public. At the time, were you carrying a firearm? Yeah. Yeah, I was carrying. Spoiler alert, he did not draw his firearm. So that's why this is a little bit interesting in a way we haven't had before. So kind of walk us through where you were and what you were doing and what tipped you off,

3:27.5

something wasn't quite right.

3:29.3

Yeah, well, I was driving down the street and some guy, he almost, he ran pretty much
