Summary

Jim and guest host applaud SCOTUS for upholding an Arizona election law that is similar to Georgia's election integrity laws which dooms Democrats' hopes of overturning them. They give another round of applause to SCOTUS for protecting donor privacy, overturning a California law which forces nonprofits to disclosing donor information. Finally, they giggle at former staff members' complaints of mistreatment from VP Harris which seem to be a little too critical.

1:03.9

because I live in Arizona and they have upheld a win for the Republicans at the highest court in

1:10.3

the land, Jim. Indeed, Chad. Usually the Supreme Court has a really good sense of drama.

1:16.6

They usually wait until the very end to unveil the decisions on probably the biggest or most

1:21.7

consequential or certainly the cases that have the highest level of public interest. Just today,

1:28.2

they upheld two provisions in the Arizona voting law, one part with restricted practice of ballot

1:33.2

harvesting and another provision that required the ballots cast at the wrong precinct on election day

1:38.2

must be discarded. Now, I think what's particularly interesting about this is a couple of days ago,

1:43.2

the Department of Justice under President Biden. Under Attorney General Merrick Garland said that

1:48.8

they were so outraged over the Georgia election reforms that they believed they were illegal and

1:52.9

unconstitutional, and thus the Department of Justice announced to suit against the state of Georgia,

1:58.8

and colleagues like my Dan McLaughlin reporting out, this is a lot of the same stuff that was in

2:04.4

this case about Arizona. You figure the Department of Justice would have wanted to at least wait until
