Darren, I appreciate your time very much for joining me and ready to talk a little bit of Cardinals here, previewing the outlook for 2024.

First one for you.

I'm curious.

My sense last year watching from the outside was that perhaps Jonathan Gannon was maybe

holding back a little bit in terms of his defensive play calling, knowing that it was

kind of a bridge year with the Murray injury.

Is there any validation or truth to that sense?

And then this year, what difference might we see if he's able to open everything up?

Well, I mean, if we're talking about the defensive side of the ball, I think, well, one, Nick Rollis was the defensive corner.

He's the one calling the defenses right now.

Danon ceded that uh to him in

the first year so um that's part of the equation i don't i don't know if i'd sit there and say

they necessarily held back i mean were they limited in some of the things they could do given

their personnel that's possible um but i to me that's a lot different than

holding something back i mean you if you can't do something i i think the mark of a good coach is

understanding who his personnel is and what they can and can't do and if you do not have the personnel

to pull off some of the things you're talking about, then it seems kind of foolish to

me than to try and run it because it's just not going to be effective.
