I'm Brian Hyatt. This is Rolling Stone Music now. I have with me Brittany Spanos and Rob Sheffield and we're here to talk about the biggest release of the week which is of course the first single from Slashes Blues Project. Oh wait, sorry, no, wait.

I miss both.

That is not the most important single a week.

We are actually going to be talking about Ariana Grande's first album in a while,

Eternal Sunshine, which Brittany has reviewed and given it the instant classic label Brittany tell us of course we could read

review which I recommend everyone do but tell us first of all what makes this

an instant classic so the way that I heard the album was Rob and I

were at a listening session last week,

and then I got a stream a couple days ago.

You both understand when you go to a place

and you listen to an album in a room with other journalists.

It's not the best way to listen to music journalists. It's not the best way to absorb music in the same way that it does when you have your

headphones in and you're listening to it in your home or in the car or on the train.

And the amount of songs that I had immediately stuck in my head from the first

listen of this album was like deeply insane. I had multiple songs that I was just running

through my head until I had the stream and could actually really dig into it and listen to it and have that album with me.

But yeah, I think it's just a really brilliant Ariana album. I think it's everything that you really love and want from her. I think it's such a great combination specifically of

Sweetener and Thank You Next. It feels like it pulls the best parts of both of those

albums out and is just like a much more kind of mature and like just a really great kind of

combination of those two really excellent albums from her. I think it's just like

lyrically one of her best. I think vocally she sounds incredible. She like produces all of her

own vocals so it's really great to see how that's developed over the course of her
