This is episode 1082 of the Arete Coach Podcast with host Severin Sorensen and guest coach David Mead, who is a speaker, management consultant, and co-author of Find Your Why: A Practical Guide for Discovering Purpose for You and Your Team. This book co-authored with Simon Sinek and Peter Docker has 400,000 copies in print, and is published in over 24 languages.
In this episode, we explore David's own "why", and his passion for helping companies overcome cultural dissonance. He talks about his formula for trust, and how company leaders should spend more time living and being, and less time materially doing their company culture. David shares his journey into management consulting and coaching, and his experiences working for and co-authoring with Simon Sinek. In our conversation, we wander through David's life experiences and learn more about him, his purpose, passion, and desire to do good to help others. In the interview, when David was asked, if he were to write a title for the name of his autobiography, he replied, "the much taller hobbit" and we explored this figurative musing about his life and journies and people he has met along the way.
