| 0:17.6 | That is one of those things that we say when someone has said something to us that seems hurtful. But here's the problem with that statement. It's absolutely a lie. |
| 0:28.2 | Names, accusations, words, they can not only hurt you, they can destroy a person from the inside out. |
| 0:36.6 | Because they are corrosive, they bring about a damage to our souls. |
| 0:41.9 | Friends, as we look at the scriptures today, we're going to be aligning our minds with God's truth about our |
| 0:47.3 | words, about the way we speak, because if our identity has changed, which the apostle Paul has just said in |
| 0:54.9 | Ephesians 423 and 24 then our behaviors have to come in line with that and |
| 1:00.3 | Ephesians 429 which is what we're looking at today, addresses the way our words |
| 1:06.7 | relate to that reality. |
| 1:08.5 | So we're going to get there in just a moment. |
| 1:10.2 | Before we do, though, I want to encourage you to share the morning mindset with someone you know, |
| 1:14.3 | maybe it's a family member, someone in your church or your neighborhood who could actually |
| 1:18.6 | benefit from this daily encouragement and mindset reset that we all get to do. So thank you for doing that |
| 1:25.5 | friends. Let's pray before we dive in to Ephesians 429. Our God we are grateful |
| 1:32.2 | that you are so good to us, that you provide such reality and truth to us about who we are in Jesus Christ. |
| 1:40.0 | And here you're giving us instructions about how we should talk, how we should interact in a verbal |
| 1:46.9 | basis with each other and with those outside the church. |
| 1:50.3 | We ask you to teach us very clearly both the what and the why of our speech. |
| 1:57.0 | We ask it in Jesus' name, amen. |
| 1:59.8 | Okay, friends, get out your Bible, your journal, Epfusions 429 is what we're looking at today. |
