As we look at the world today, with time of this recording, there's a lot of social changes happening all over the globe.

We've got, you know, we've got social groups in the Middle East that are springing up from the

radical Islam sect of ISIS that are threatening, you know, people's lives. We have laws

being passed here in the United States, legalizing things like gay marriage and

cannabis or marijuana use. We've got a lot of different immigration policies. We've got a

trade agreement on the Asian Pacific end of the spectrum where it's opening more free trade between

countries, giving a lot more power to basically businesses

to orchestrate how governments interact.

And we see all of these things merging right now are converging in our world.

And I think a lot of times as we look at this, depending on whatever the issue is, it

really doesn't matter what the issue is, whether it's from drug legalization all the way to

you know trade agreements on the Asia Pacific front.

We look at these and we say,

are we as a humanity, as a civilization?

Are we regressing or are we progressing?

And I think that's really a fundamental question.

Oftentimes, I believe, and we believe, that those two things can get confused sometimes.

Things that look like the progressive can actually be regressive and things that look regressive can actually be progressive and that's what the we want to talk about on today's podcast.

Yeah, there's an really intriguing model that was, I think, is generally considered to be Ken Wilbur's one of the greatest contributions philosophically.
