Are you addicted to caffeine? Here’s what you need to do.

In this podcast, we’re going to talk about caffeine and energy. Are you dependent on caffeine for energy? If so, you came to the right video.

Stimulant vs. fuel

Stimulant:

A stimulant gives you the appearance of fuel, but it’s not fuel.

When adenosine (the energy currency in the body) gets used, adenosine breaks off and builds up during the day. At the end of the day, it can make you sleepy. Caffeine blocks this natural chemical allowing dopamine, serotonin, glutamate, and GABA to go higher. When these neurotransmitters increase, you get more mental clarity, creativity, and energy.

When you consume caffeine over time or in large amounts, you start developing resistance in the cells. You’re going to need more and more to create the same effect, and it starts to throw off your neurotransmitters.

Welcome to the Dr. Berg's Healthy Kito and Interminute fasting podcast, where Dr. Berg takes you on the journey for the truth about getting healthy and losing healthy weight. So I have a question for you. Are you dependent on caffeine for your energy? Well if so, then you came to the right video because I want to differentiate something. You have actual

0:54.4

fuel that gives you energy like ketones, phytia acids, glucose, but then you have

1:02.0

stimulants which give you the appearance of actual fuel energy

1:07.0

but it's really not fuel energy. It's a stimulant.

1:10.0

And I want to explain exactly what caffeine does to your body is quite interesting.

1:13.2

There's a natural body chemical called adenosine, okay, as in adenosine triphosphate.

1:19.2

I'm not sure if you've ever heard of that before, but this is the energy currency in the body

1:23.8

ATP and when this currency gets used a denizenicine breaks off and it does a lot of

1:29.4

different things but one thing that it will do is it builds up during the day.

1:34.0

Okay, so at the end of the night, it actually can make you sleepy and tired.

1:39.0

And caffeine simply blocks this chemical, which allows dopamine, glutamate, serotonin, and

1:48.4

gabha to start going higher.

1:50.8

And when these neurotransmitters increase, that's going to give you more mental clarity,

1:56.7

creativity, energy, things like that.

1:59.1

Now what's interesting is that 90% of the population, 90% are consuming certain types of things with caffeine in it, coffee, tea.

2:10.0

Even chocolate has a little bit in there, but it has another stimulant.

2:13.2

Then you have the sodas.

2:14.5

And a lot of people are addicted, I'm sorry,

2:16.2

consuming caffeinated beverages.
