1 Corinthians chapter 10 this morning.

Our text will be verses 15 through 22.

On Sunday mornings we're going through 1 Corinthians chapter by chapter and verse by verse.

And today we are in chapter 10.

And once you find your way there, if you would please stand.

If you're able, you can follow along with me as I read beginning in

verse 15 where the apostle Paul writing says I speak to sensible people judge for yourselves what I say

is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a participation in the blood of Christ?

And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ?

Because verse 17, there is one loaf, we who are many,

are one body, for we all share the one loaf. Consider verse 18, the people of Israel. do not those who eat the sacrifices participate in

the altar do I mean then then that food sacrificed to an idol is anything or

that an idol is anything no but verse, the sacrifices of pagans are offered to demons, not to God.

And I do not want you to be participants with demons. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too.

You cannot have a part in both the Lord's table and the

table of demons. Are we, verse 22, trying to arouse the Lord's jealousy? Are we stronger than he?

Let's pray.

Lord, settle us down and calm us down and enable us by the Holy Spirit to focus.

Lord, we want to give you our undivided attention in anticipation of that which you would desire to minister to us today. So, Lord, please speak into our lives through your

word, we pray. In Jesus pray in Jesus name amen you can be

seated thank you today's teaching is part two of a series I've titled in

question form are you a Christian hybrid the reason I'm using the metaphor of a hybrid is because it provides us with an apt description of blending worldly carnality with our Christianity.
