Summary

When we’re baptized, we become adopted sons or daughters of God. We become “children of God”. So… does that mean we aren’t children of God before that? And if we aren’t… what are we?

Today, Fr. Mike explains to us how baptism makes us “partners in the divine nature”, so that we can truly call God our Father.

0:10.1	And I mentioned that one of the things that happens in baptism is our sins are forgiven,

0:15.5	Original sin and whatever actual sins we've committed.
0:17.4	We're incorporated into the body of Christ.
0:19.3	We're made members of the family of God.
0:21.6	Well, we received the gift of the Holy Spirit.
0:24.3	And also, we're made into sons or daughters of God.
0:27.6	We become adopted sons or daughters of the Father.
0:32.8	Now this is what I'm going to share.
0:35.2	I don't know if I've shared this in other contexts.
0:36.6	I know we have a program that is baptismal called the longing that I share this in that
0:42.0	training for parents, this preparation for parents.
0:45.8	But it's one of the most incredible things that I can even imagine.
0:49.2	I mean, it blows my mind that God forgives us of our sins in the first place.
0:54.4	That He forgives us of our sins through baptism, through reconciliation is incredible.
0:59.3	What an incredible gift of God.
1:00.9	That we're brought into God's family.
