Four minutes after ten is the time.

I will begin this morning where I always begin,

which is with a word upon the existential threat

under which almost all Jews in the world live,

particularly in many ways the Jewish people living in Israel.

It is a country born of centuries of persecution.

It is a haven.

And therefore, it is very, very difficult for many, many people to see anything done to protect that haven from real and obvious danger. Never has that danger been more real or more obvious than it was

on October the 7th. It is very, very hard for very, very many people to see anything done to

protect that haven from threats. And it creates an environment exacerbated by deeply irresponsible journalism

and politics often elsewhere in the world, but it creates an environment in which, as we

have been saying on this program with the heaviest of hearts since about October the 8th,

it creates an environment in which unscrupulous and morally corrupt politicians,

desperate to save their own skin, politically speaking,

can undertake actions that are unconscionable and do so with more support than they would receive in perhaps any other religious,

geographical or cultural context.

And we knew it was going to happen.

Listen, when I seemed to have some sort of powers of clairvoyance on the program. And I started saying to you very, very long ago,

not long after the terrorist atrocity of October the 7th,

that eventually the question will probably boil down to how much death is too much death.

It's not because I'm possessed of particular perspicacity. It's because I really, really

listened to what you have told me over the years. So I completely understand the nature of that
