And I'm Patrick Miller. Right now we're learning how to follow Jesus by working our way through the Gospel of Luke.

Imagine that you're walking around with Jesus. You're following him from town to town and just

watching him do his thing. So you're seeing him talk to the crowds, but you're also

seeing him interact with his disciples. Maybe you watch a few miracles, some people healed, that kind of thing.

But on this particular day, Jesus has the biggest crowd you've ever seen him talk to.

They're coming from all over. In fact, there's so many people coming

in such a small space that they're trampling on one another, bumping into one another. It's

uncomfortable. It's so crowded. Now Jesus stands up and he's getting ready to teach. He's getting

ready to say something to this huge crowd, the biggest you've ever seen him with. What do you imagine he'll say? What do you

imagine will be the content of this talk? What will he teach them? I think you're going to be surprised what Jesus taught the people

on one of the days that he had the biggest crowds ever. We find out in Luke chapter 12 verse one that the topic that Jesus takes on is

hypocrisy. Let me just read the verse for you. Luke chapter 12 verse one.

Meanwhile when a crowd of many thousand you're first to his disciples saying be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees which is

hypocrisy.

Hypocracy.

That's what Jesus talked to his disciples about and by extension to this crowd of many thousands of people.

And he says to them, be careful.

This is dangerous stuff here.

Be alert. Pay attention.

Hypocrisy is dangerous, dangerous to your soul, dangerous to other people.
