Summary

Josh Peck and Lauren Caron explore the biblical account of the Watchers β€” fallen angels who descended to earth before the Flood β€” and how their influence may be appearing again in the modern world. From AI and advanced technology to UFO encounters and genetic hybridization, many believe we are seeing echoes of the same corruption that once led to the days of Noah. Could modern technological breakthroughs be connected to ancient spiritual forces?

What I wanted to talk about is I know you've got a new book out and boy oh boy do I feel like it's really pertinent to the times that we're living in.

0:12.4

Your new book is called The Return of the Watchers. So I really wanted to kind of dive into some of the, I guess you could say content of that book with you today.

0:21.8

So question one for us is it's probably just a good one to lay the foundation. If you could give everyone a

0:27.4

little bit of background on who the watchers are, I think that would be a good place to start.

0:32.0

Yeah, yeah, for sure. So we can start with the Bible. So in Genesis 6, we get the basic story that there are these

0:38.5

sons of God. They're fallen angels, because we can compare that with other parts of the Bible,

0:43.3

like in Job, and we can find out, okay, these aren't humans, these are actual supernatural

0:46.9

beings. Fallen angels, they rebelled against God, they fell to Earth, they mated with

0:53.2

humankind, and created the giants, or what's commonly referred to as the Nephilim.

0:59.2

We get more of that story in the extra biblical book of Enoch.

1:03.4

And, you know, of course, Enoch, we don't take, it's not at the same level as the Bible or anything like that.

1:09.5

But it really does help fill in the gaps.

1:11.6

Plus, Enoch was found among the Dead Sea Scrolls. So people during Jesus' time actually read the book of Enoch.

1:20.6

Jesus even, or Jesus quotes some other Dead Sea Scrolls, but the book of Enoch is actually quoted in the Bible.

1:26.6

So it's not, we wouldn't consider it the same part as the Bible, but it's still something to pay attention to.

1:32.1

So in chapter six, coincidentally enough, we get more of the story.

1:37.3

We find out that the actual class of angels that these were were called watchers.

1:41.8

And there were 200 of them.

1:44.3

And basically we just get a more full version of the story.

1:49.4

And what we find out is their judgment for this sin,

1:53.4

the 200 Watchers, was that they were bound in certain parts,

1:58.6

like underground in these chambers and stuff, like, chambers and stuff.
