A few weeks back in July,

I took a trip north from Manhattan

to just outside of Albany, the capital of New York State, in order to check out this noisy building.

It looked like most industrial sites, kind of squat, made of gray concrete, surrounded by big metal tanks.

But it also had this big, loud exhaust vent on the side.

Kind of looking like someone strapped a jet engine to the structure,

which fits, since that's what the engineers who work here at GE Aerospace

are developing.

This is just the outside of the combustion test building.

We're looking at an exhaust stack that's taken the exhaust air

coming out of one of the tests that's running in one of the tests cells?

That's Robert Zacharias.

He's a chief engineer working on high speed propulsion.

And we'll be going in there and we'll be showing you what the setup looks like in general and what we're doing
