This offseason coming up is going to be an important one because this roster is nowhere near ready, in my view, to compete for a title. Aren't they competing for a title right now? I don't think so. What? I don't think so. They're tied for the number one seat in the AFC. I know. Do you think the 2021 Patriots competed for a title? At this stage, they were the number one seat in the AFC with, you know, heading into their buy. Okay. But that's what I think they look at the roster. Yes, this is great. So you think that's what this is? I think that, no, I just think that they're trying to build a team. But I think realistically, if you look at some of these teams, Mike, yeah, I know that they beat Buffalo and Buffalo. Do you think they're better than Buffalo? That doesn't, that's not my calculus. Can they beat them in a home game yes yep yep i don't care

and they would do it again in the pilot i hate that so that's how that's what we're going to base our decisions on? I think they can do in a game. I think they got a lot of work to do. Let's put it that way. That's all. Well, you don't believe in the team very much. I believe in the quarterback, but I believe he's doing an awful lot all by himself. And nothing better than carrying on an argument with someone who's not here to defend himself. In fact, it's one of the things we do best. Sort of like a sweet spot. But I would like to pick up on that. Yes. Because I don't want to go back and forth the whole hour with him. But I heard, you know, we've been sort of replaying a version of that on the simulcast. And I saw it this morning. I'm like, oh, I forgot about that conversation and I want to pick it up because it's like

a core thing of mine.

I think it transcends a lot of our conversations about a lot of the teams in town.

And it's a line of thinking that I just hate.

And it's, it goes like, well, sort of what Paul said.

Do you really think they're a championship team this year?

Do you really?

Because they're not.

Look at their roster.

That's not a championship roster.

They're early.

They're not ready.

And you can be talking about the Patriots this year.

You could be talking about the Red Sox this year.

You could be talking about the Celtics without Jason Tatum for just over half the season.
