But the Daily Telegraph, no less, the sort of House Journal, I've said it before it, I shall say it again. The Daily Telegraph is to Boris Johnson, as the Beano is to Dennis the Menace.

And the Daily Telegraph this morning carries a story.

Under the headline, time is running out to prove Brexit is not a historic failure.

I took a decision about halfway through last year to confine most of my newspaper references regarding the dreaded B word to newspapers that were

absolutely tireless cheerleaders for it at the time of the referendum and in the four years

immediately afterwards. Well, the five years were basically the five years up until it happening.

They were full-throated and tireless cheerleader.

So the Daily Express has been dropping some headlines that make me do a double take.

So close to the truth are they finally becoming.

And so completely at loggerheads, completely at odds with what they said was going to happen,

is now going to happen.

I mean, just by way of example, if you were looking at politicians instead of newspapers,

do you remember Reese Mogg and the rest of them queuing up to tell you that your energy prices

and your food prices would be lower after Brexit?

Is that a penny drop moment?

Is that a little sort of breakthrough minute?

I do not know. But the Daily

Telegraph carrying that headline today. And Kirstarmer's speech yesterday, and I think today is one
