Hello, everyone.

The title of my talk for tonight is Our Quality of Life Judgments Ethical.

I want to start by talking about a patient that I had.

Her name is Anne.

We'll call her Anne.

Anne is 74 years old and presents to the emergency room with aspiration pneumonia and septic shock.

She has congestive heart failure, diabetes type 2, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pulmonary

caeccia, hypertension, and a history of stroke, sepsis, and respiratory failure.

She had a G2 placed about six months ago due to ongoing malnutrition.

Since that time, she has been in and out of the

hospital with increasing frequency for serious bacterial infections. She has difficulty

clearing secretions and great difficulty walking. I want you to just think about this patient

for a moment. And then I want you to weigh in so you can raise your hand either through

Zoom. And I just want to hear from you, what do you think about Anne's quality of life?

So what do you want to say? What do you think you can say about her quality of life?

You can also, you can also type it in the chat. That's fine too. Someone on that chat says that it seems hard. Someone else in the chat says that it seems like the quality of life is poor.

These are all hesitant to make any judgment given the title of the talk. I think you're a little worried that it might be

unethical to say anything. We have at least too common. So it seems hard. It seems poor. We'll go

with that for now. I actually want to just keep this case in mind for now. We're going to come back
