I was at a conference recently for therapists,

and the keynote speaker was talking about

the different generations.

You have the baby boomers, the generation X,

generation Y, millennials, blah, blah, blah.

And she said that millennials are more narcissistic

than other generations of the past.

She talked about how young people today

are obsessed with social media and selfies

and self-help and self-expression.

And she made a really convincing argument

that young people are becoming more narcissistic these days

and the crowd seem to really agree with her claims.

But she didn't provide any research to backup her claims.

So after the conference, I asked around lay people

and particularly other clinicians who might know

about this sort of thing.

And they all agreed with the keynote speaker.

They told me that not only are young people today

becoming more narcissistic, but everyone
