specifically because of the record of the Faroe Islands. Yeah, it is going to be a weird one today.

Last night I posted on Twitter and Blue Sky about my new year plans, which are to spend a few days in the Faroe Islands, a remote cluster of islands between Scotland and Iceland.

Yes, I know it's a bit odd, but it's supposed to be beautiful and it will certainly be peaceful.

And I quite like dragging my wife to slightly weird holiday destinations.

Anyway, I wanted, as I often do

when I go anywhere, to access the hive online brain for recommendations. Perhaps one of the only

nice things to do these days, in particular on the cess bit that is X. How wrong I was. In fact,

I managed to pull off the impossible. I united the online right on X and online left on blue sky. I woke up to a barrage of angry, furious tweets and posts attacking the idea of visiting the pharaohs at all because of their practice of slaughtering whales and dolphins throughout the summer, something they've done for

nigh on a thousand years. And the messages didn't stop coming and reached something of a climax

when Chris Packham himself messaged me saying, Lewis, please don't go. Please go somewhere where the

residents don't needlessly and savagely slaughter whales and dolphins
