Summary

Mirriam-Webster's dictionary defines the word Christian as "one who professes belief in the teachings of Jesus Christ." Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints certainly profess belief in Christ, and yet many, especially some vocal in the wider Christian world, refuse to grant them/us the title "Christian". 0:54.5	chapter 7. Verse 43 says that there was a division among the people because of him, because of
1:02.0	Jesus. And if you read the couple of verses before that and a couple of verses after that,
1:06.7	you can see the different divisions. Verse 40. There were some that said of truth, this is a prophet.
1:14.1	Others said, this is the Christ, but some said, shall Christ come out of Galilee?
1:19.6	Verse 46, the officers that go to question or to try and take Jesus said, never spake a man like this.
1:27.7	The Sanhedron in verse 48 have any of the rulers or the Pharisees believed on him.
1:32.7	Nicodemus in verse 50 stands up and defends the Savior.
1:36.6	And I think I found that a significant way to start because even in Jesus' own time,
1:41.2	when he's physically there, there were multiple thoughts and beliefs about him.
1:49.6	And as the church continues to grow and develop, you see this a lot on the Pauline epistles,
1:55.9	that division doesn't diminish, it actually increases.
1:59.7	Much of what Paul is doing in his different letters
2:01.9	is trying to create some unity in the Christian world. Well, fast forward 2,000 years, and here we are
