The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons) has been in the news lately in connection with the assassination of Charlie Kirk and the murderous attack on an LDS chapel in Michigan. As Americans have rushed to find the "cause" of these attacks, several groups have been blamed including: Latter-day Saints, Political Conservatives/Republicans, Political Liberals/Democrats, Evangelical Christians, and Ex-Mormon influencers. Today we will discuss many of these theories with an amazing panel: Julie de Azevedo Hanks, Bishop Beau Oyler, Jana Spangler, and John Dehlin.

| 0:26.7 | Weeks ago, a very popular conservative YouTuber Charlie Kirk was assassinated in Orham, Utah, |
| 0:35.7 | while he was speaking at Utah Valley University. |
| 0:39.3 | I've made reference to that just in terms of giving my own personal condolences to Charlie Kirk and his family and his supporters. |
| 0:48.3 | But we haven't really talked about that violence in the context of Mormonism and current events and news. |
| 0:58.0 | In addition, just last week, I believe, in Michigan, a Mormon congregation was attacked |
| 1:06.0 | violently. |
| 1:07.6 | I believe the death count is now five. |
| 1:10.1 | I believe there's something like eight injuries. |
| 1:13.1 | And the shooter died in that conflict. |
| 1:18.6 | And, you know, it has come out that both Charlie Kirk's alleged assassin was raised LDS. |
