And I'm Moodieh.

And we have two very special guests joining us for Democracy-ish this week.

I'm very excited to have them and to dig into a conversation that we don't often get to dig into here,

which is that of Israel and Palestine.

And I'm going to kick it over to Wage to do his movie phone introduction of our two esteemed guests.

Joining us as the representative of all Jews forever, Peter Beinart is the editor at large of Jewish Current and Bynard Notebook at Substack and professor at CUNY University.

And joining us as the representative of all Palestinians forever is Rula Gibriel, international

author, journalist, and she teaches

propaganda and genocide at the University of Miami. Welcome, Pipe, Peter, and Rula. Of course,

you're not the representatives of all your people, but I had to use some dark humor because

we need all the humor we can get when we're talking about this subject. This is very important

subject to many Americans,

to many people around the world. A lot of folks are watching right now what's happening in the

streets of Israel. And they're like, huh, why are thousands of Israelis out there in the streets?

What's happening with Netanyahu? How come he's the herpes of Israel? He lingers forever.

What's happening with the Supreme Court? Also, why are there

these extremists being more extreme with their fascism against Palestinians? Why is our government

giving so much money? How do I make sense of all of this? So we're going to dig into all of that.

But Peter, for the lay of the land, for people who don't follow this thing called Middle Eastern

politics,

can you explain to them why so many Israelis are out in the streets right now protesting
