Summary

Sometimes we’re not everything we wish we could be. At times all we can do is act as if we believe, because we’re just not up to truly putting our faith in God at that moment. In this episode, Fr. Mike explains why, in a sense, it’s OK to be a “hypocrite” at those times.

0:11.3	So one of the things I think a lot of times we get as Catholics or as Christians is like
0:16.8	I know about you Christians, I know about you Catholics.
0:18.7	You just a bunch of hypocrites.
0:20.0	And maybe you've heard that.
0:21.3	Maybe you've heard that before.
0:22.3	Maybe even as a Christian or as a Catholic, you've gone to Mass or you've hung around, hung
0:26.6	out around other Christians or other Catholics and like, man, there's just a bunch of hypocrites.
0:31.2	I think that's a huge problem.
0:35.7	But I don't know if it's the exact problem that we think it is.
0:39.4	Here's what I mean.
0:40.9	Jesus even says, he's talking to the Pharisees and he says, well, what's your Pharisees?
0:44.5	You hypocrites.
0:45.8	Now Jesus uses the word hypocrites in accusation against the religious people of his own time.
0:53.6	But what is the word hypocritm?
0:55.2	What does it actually mean?
0:56.2	What it actually means is actor.
0:58.7	So hypocrite is an actor.
1:00.3	Hypocrite is someone who is simply pretending.
1:04.3	And that's what we have to ask the question.
1:06.0	Are Christians or are Catholics, MI or are you pretending?
