Jean Belivou walked farther than any other human known to history.

His official cause was to promote peace for children, but he himself admits that he was

chiefly propelled by a midlife crisis of astounding power.

He left Montreal in 2000, walked down through the Americas, pushing a cart full of necessities,

flew across the Atlantic, went up through Africa, into Europe, across Europe, through the Middle East, up into Asia, down through Southeast Asia, around Australia,

before finally taking a plane back home to Canada.

In 11 years, across 64 countries, and through 49 pairs of shoes, this man covered over 46,000 miles of terrain.

Undeniably, this is an incredible accomplishment.

The greatest distance a man has ever covered on his own power.
