We were sitting around the studio the other day talking about some of the best advice we've ever received from teachers coaches

Parents grandparents and Jim, our creative director,

remembered that Ralphie May

once told him that a fat comedian should never make their entire stick about their weight

because what happens if they lose that weight? Which often happens. They've just lost their entire act and that can

be applied to life in general our grandmothers would never would would tell us never

put all your eggs in one basket. Have more than one hobby.

What are you going to do if you no longer have that hobby? Have more than one friend. Have more than one interest. What if your friend passes away?

What if you lose interest in this particular sport? No, Ramone, you cannot use this advice to talk Amy into adding a second wife to your marriage.

You goof!

What I'm trying to say is become a well-rounded person. Don't put everything, all the eggs, into one basket.

Leverage, spread it out, diversify. So what does this have to do with the archive podcast? We thought we'd go back and

listen to Ralphie May in studio with us for a few years back, a few years back as our archive audio this week.

I want to say Ralphie came in and did several interviews with me.

I don't like to call them interviews, I call them discussions because I'm not. and did an interview with me.

And not long before he died, he came in and did an interview

was in the morning, and he was pretty big at that

point and he is his breathing was labored and it bothered me it bothered me, it worried me, because I was a big fan. I really enjoyed his comedy.

And he invited me on the spot to come to his show that Sunday night.
